Working with Readers with Mental and Physical Disabilities: Reading Methods and Inspiration from European Countries

SUMMARY: This article describes mental and physical disorders that affect the ability to read aloud and presents the ways in which selected European countries address these issues. The aim of the article is to identify inspiring methods and programs that can be utilized within Czech public libraries. The results show that purposefully designed library programs and appropriately selected reading methods can significantly contribute to the development of reading skills and support the inclusion of children with reading disabilities, whether physical or mental.
