Reading and Books in Search for their Boundaries (Results of the Fifth Statistical Survey of Readers and Reading in the Czech Republic)
SUMMARY: The main results of the fifth statistical survey of readers and reading in the Czech Republic (population aged 15+), conducted in 2023, are presented, along with a more detailed presentation and inter- pretation of the results related to the main theme of the research – our associations connected with reading. The survey results indicate (1) a decreasing level of reading culture in the Czech Republic, (2) further growth in all digital reading activities, and (3) a disintegration of the customary book-paper-reading triad (with its individual components becoming more independent).
