Hundred years of the Slavonic Library
SUMMARY: The study focuses on the Prague Slavonic Library, which marks its centenary in 2024. The library was founded in 1924 and it has been an autonomous part of the today‘s National Library of the Czech Republic since 1958. Besides the circumstances ofits establishment and key dates in its history, mainly the changes ofthe library in the last thirty-five years (after 1989) are covered. In this period, it has notably modernized and computerized the library activities, participated in several digitization programmes and joined a number of international cultural and professional Slavic Studies projects. Thanks to the activities of several generations of specialized librarians, the current Slavonic Library is one of the centres of Slavic Studies in the world.
