Early printed books of the regional museum for Vysoke nad Jizerou and its surroundings now in the National Library of the Czech Republic

SUMMARY: The article describes a book donation that the National Library of the Czech Republic received in 2022 from the Regional Museum for Vysoké nad Jizerou and its Surroundings. Part of this donation was transferred to the Manuscripts and Early Printed Books Department and professionally catalogued. The article summarizes the results of this cataloging work. This includes an analysis of the contents, authorship and prove nance of approximately one hundred and ten early printed books. A brief introduction of the history and present condition of museum is mentioned too.

One hundred years since the international congress of librarians and friends of the book in Prague in 1926

SUMMARY: The international library congress held in Prague in 1926 was a significant event in the development of Czechoslovak librarianship, focusing the attention of the whole world on the capital of the country that experienced the greatest boom in libra rianship in the post-war period. The congress featured presentations on the current state and needs of librarianship in European countries and the USA. At the initiative of the French delegation, the congress passed a resolution to establish an international executive committee to determine the location and date of the next congress and to initiate international cooperation. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) was founded at the next congress in Edinburgh in September 1927. Czechoslovakia was represented by Zdeněk Václav Tobolka, who also became a member of the IFLA committee.

How is the library profession changing? : Findings of the regular survey: analysis of the salary, age, and educational structure of library staff in the Czech republic in 2025

SUMMARY: The article presents the main findings of a nationwide survey on working conditions in Czech libraries conducted in 2025. It analyses the salary, age, and educational structure oflibrary staff, their classification in salary grades, length of service, and genderrepresentation in library management. Special attention is given to language proficiency, the use of artificial intelligence in library practice, and the availability of personnel-related policy documents. The results are presented in clear graphs and tables, offering comparisons between public and specialized libraries as well as developments over time.
